Accelerated Freefall (AFF) student landing graduating his Skydiving Course Kev Pringle, Manchester
'Having done a tandem and a couple of static line jumps a few years before, I was persuaded to come to the Czech Republic to do the AFF course which one of my friends had done last year. Mike was a recommendation, and a good one at that. He took account of the fact that I had some knowledge from previous jumps, but didn’t hesitate to correct me if I was off track. The feedback was excellent and I could watch the footage of my body position throughout the jump and work on it accordingly. He is well experienced and has a good teaching style, which definitely worked for me. I couldn’t get enough of jumping and I think even Mike was surprised when I got my last 7 consoles and the ‘hop and pop’ in on Friday before the big party.
I’d recommend the course to anyone who wants to get to the Cat 8 level quickly and then get on with the fun stuff, such as formation and free flying. There are lots of places in the UK and abroad to do it, and it is pretty cheap once the initial cost of the rig and training is paid for.'
AFF Graduation for Pete on his Skydiving Course Pete Evans, Cambridge
'Skydiving is something that I've always wanted to do but never got round to doing it until last September. I had been emailing Mike about doing the AFF course but good weather in England is few and far between so off to Spain we go.
In Spain I got a lot of jumps in which was great (Can't beat the adrenalin rush of throwing yourself out of a plane) I also hit a little problem on my level four but with the encouragement and support from Mike, plus a bit of time in the wind tunnel, it wasn't anything that I couldn't overcome. I had a great time in Spain and meet some really sound people as well. Mike is an outstanding instructor and a top bloke. I would recommend him to anyone who was thinking of doing the AFF or Tandem.
Definitely glad I went, it was a pleasure to be instructed by Mike.'

'As a child i wondered what it was like up there in the sky, always tried to imagine how a bird of prey must feel as it dived through the air at 120+ miles an hour.
It is brilliant, I know.  I recently finished the AFF course with Mike Gorman at Langar in Nottingham.
My companion for the experience finnished his course in 3 days, for me it took a little longer. Many people, including myself get stuck on a level, mine was level 5.
The whole experience was awe inspiring and more than a dream come true.
Since finnishing the AFF I have experimented with different styles of exit, various canopies, and enjoyed the freefall experience so much more each time that I jump.
My confidence is still growing and I look forward to having many more jumps with many more people. There is so much to enjoy about the experience, so much one can do and so much fun to be had.
The people are great, understanding, tolerant, helpful, and friendly.
Skydiving is an experience that can easily become a part of everyday life and yet at the same time can be an experience for life.'
